Lusitano Cefiro do Céu

Introducing our most incredible mover, Lusitano stallion:  Veiga Colt Cefiro do Céu (formerly “Cefiro do Top” had to be renamed for registry)

2011 Adequan USDF All -Breeds Researve Champion, Cefiro is our favorite 4 year old complete with Championship awards from his very first show season! Now standing at 16.1hh, this Veiga stallion with lovely floating movement, perfect conformation, incredible intelligence, and courage has begun his show career.  SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE PICS AND VIDEOS.  His first show season (Woodside Summer Dressage 2011, Greenville, Woodside Fall, Rancho Murieta Championships) has resulted in scores ranging from 66 to 75.2 – during both shows he took highest scoring horse at the show (three times for a single day and twice overall). The latter score was the show high score for day 2 (Score of 75.2).   He consistently receives 8’s on ALL gaits (including the walk which is often overlooked in studs).  See season list below!!   Currently in full training with Katie Hoefs-Martin he is excelling quickly and proving to be incredibly level-headed and willing while outscoring the competition more than double his age and training. Started well by in Joan Williams (USDF Gold, Silver and Bronze) Cefiro in the making.  He is gentle, engaged and engaging, and holds his place at the front of the barn amidst all of the action.  A young stallion, quiet in his stall and open paddock or cross-ties, he stands and works side by side with mares, geldings and stallions without a protest or problem (see his “working” video).  He is reasonable, smart, curious, and incredibly affectionate.  The video below is of this diamond in the rough; straight out of the pasture (at 2 years of age) without any training or human contact.  It goes without saying that this boy can MOVE.  He has only improved and matured. At the walk he tracks over by more than 10 inches, his canter is lovely, strong, smooth and incredibly uphill, and his trot, well, you can decide for yourself.  Tall, elegant, with incredible presence and soul – we love him.

Cefiro is available for the 2012 breeding season to a limited number of mares for $1000 stud fee per breeeding (does not include vet fees of stallion collection and shipping), A.I. only, no live cover.  Recent genetic color test results from UC Davis show as follows:
Red-Factor Result: E/e – Both black and red factors detected. Either E or e transmitted to offspring. Basic color is black, bay or brown in the absence of other modifying genes.
Agouti Result: A/a – Black pigment distributed in points pattern. Basic color is bay or brown in the absence of other modifying genes.
Cream Result: N/N – No evidence for the Cream dilution altered sequence detected. Basic color is sorrel or chestnut, bay or black in the absence of other modifying genes.
Gray Result: N/G – One copy of the gray gene. Horse will turn gray and approximately 50% of offspring will be gray. that he is heterozygous for grey (will throw grey 50% of the time)

Presenting Lusitano Stallion Precioso do Top – Lovely 14 year old Veiga bred stallion. He is a lovely 16hh grey with incredible athletic ability, training and a great personality. Take a look at this video of his movement in a small round pen “just messing around”…
