One of our closest partners and friends has recently developed and released a fantastic new product aimed at rewarding your horse in a much healthier way. Since we, here at DreamFriesians, are all about COLOR, we thought some assistance with the genetics of color/breeding would be helpful. We will also be posting a number of resources on this subject to help breeders better predict their results -
Equine Genetic Testing – this is also a good option for having your horse genetically tested.
For supplements there are a great number of sources. Bottom line – I am lazy, but prefer to be neat (a tough combination) so I order many supplements from SmartPak. The supplements arrive in daily doses already prepared for each horse (name labels and everything!) I have ordered lots of different things from them as well (saddle pads, spurs, clothing, etc) and their service is nothing short of stellar. If there’s an issue and you call them, a human being with a brain will happily assist you and resolve the issue immediately. Not only will they answer the phone, they will even call you with any questions/info that you might need to know about your order – amazing!
Interested in who trains our horses?? Thought so, that’s why we will divulge that we are open to multiple trainers for various methods and disciplines. We have trained in Liberty, Dressage, Hunter/Jumper and just plain “Understanding of the Horse” each with well-respected and talented trainers who will usually specialize in one or two things.
For ground manners and a good foundation, we recommend Brandy Worley. Her special talent is Liberty training. Not only are the horses trained properly for their usual cues (leg, reins, manners, etc) they are also supple and flexible because of how they are worked in her program. She believes that a supple, flexible horse is key to accomplishing the riding and movements you desire. She works and stretches them in 1000 different ways and it shows – they look lovely. As a bonus, she is an authority on equine manners and as a result, our stallions are extremely well-behaved and happier for it.
For Dressage, we’ve been working with Joan Williams. While Joan is talented and flexible, she is also serious and focused. Riding with her can be challenging and incredibly helpful with her no BS approach. We have also found that she is open to different approaches and has a sense of what works for each horse. A gifted rider, she is a real treat to watch in the arena and has an extra talent for freestyle.
An accomplished reining and cutting rider, Amanda Hayes of Hayes Cow Horses is unreal to watch with her animals. She delights in the antics of the stallions and really appreciates the individual talents of each horse and rider. Positive and dedicated, your horse would be lucky to have the privilege of working with her!
